Free Summer Camp Organized By Students Is Open To Children on Long Island.

Camp Kesem Stony Brook is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit. Camp Kesem is a week-long, overnight summer camp for children on Long Island who have a parent diagnosed with cancer.

This camp is free for the families participating and staffed entirely by undergraduate student volunteers. Counselors have undergone extensive training for the camp. A registered nurse will be on staff.
Camp will be held August 10 through August 15 at Camp Candlewood in New Fairfield, Connecticut. The camp can accommodate up to 50 campers.

The week of magic (Kesem means magic in Hebrew) begins at Stony Brook University, where families will say goodbye to campers as they prepare for the bus ride to Connecticut. Every moment at CKSB is about providing campers with a week filled with as much fun as possible while providing the extra support and attention that they need.
Camp Kesem is supported by a grant from the Livestrong Foundation and partnering with community organizations.
