Southampton Youth Bureau Summer Programs Announced

The Southampton Town Youth Bureau is offering a wide array of summer programs from trips to Splish Splash, arts and crafts and swimming activities to a free lunch program for anyone under the age of 21. 

The free lunch program is organized in conjunction with Island Harvest and is available Monday-Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the David Crohan Community Center, 655 Flanders Road in Flanders.  No registration is necessary.

The Southampton Town Youth Bureau is accepting applications for their YB Adventure Days summer enrichment program. It’s eight weeks of exploration, arts and crafts, water activities and one weekly field trip. From July 7 to August 28 young people from third to sixth grade are eligible to participate. The cost is $300 for a single camper, the second sibling is $275 and the third sibling $250. Applications are available online at  www.southamptontownny.gov/youthbureau.

“Neighborhood Nights” have been organized for families with children in K-4th grade on Monday nights. Parents are invited to drop their child off for an evening of fun that includes; music, arts and crafts, basketball, parties, water activities and more. “Neighborhood Nights” will be held every Monday from June 30 to August 25, beginning at 5 p.m. and ending at 8:30pm at the Flanders Community Center located at 655 Flanders Road in Flanders, NY.  Starting in July, a bus will transport the children to the SYS in Southampton to use the pool.

 “Tuesdays on the Go” is a series of field trips to local amusement attractions for young people in grades six and up. It begins on July 1 and will be in operation thorough August 26th. A bus will pick up the attendees at the McDonald’s in Southampton, the Hampton Bays High School and the Westhampton Beach High School. Times will vary according trip location, bus schedule. Trips are planned to Adventure Land ($20,) Cousins Paintball ($40,) Selden Batting and Go Carts ($15,) Splish Splash ($30,) and Bounce Trampoline Sports ($22.) On Wednesday’s it’s Teen Night at Ludlum Park. Students in grades 7 and up are invited to play basketball, tennis, double dutch, flag football, dodge ball, listen to music or just socialize with their peers and enjoy a live DJ at the end of the program BBQ party at Ludlum Park in Riverside every Wednesday from July 2 through August 27 beginning at 7:30 p.m. and ending at 11 p.m.

On Thursday nights young people in fifth grade and older are invited to have fun swimming, playing foosball, video games, pool, watching movies and more beginning on  July 10 and running through August 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. every Thursday. Transportation will be available to from the Flanders Community Center to the SYS Southampton Pool for $2 Attendants are encouraged to remember their towels and bathing suits. Pick-up and drop-off is at 5 and 8:30 p.m.
