Mark Your Calendar: School Merger Forum Slated
Do you support a merger of the Southampton and Tuckahoe School Districts?
The Southampton and Tuckahoe School Districts are set to hold a community forum next week on a plan to merge the two school districts.
At the meeting, community members will be encouraged to ask questions related to the results of a feasibility study released by the SES Study Team earlier this month.
The results of that study, which has been in the works for about 8 months, were recently signed off by the New York State Education Department.
The study not only outlines costs and tax impacts associated with a merger, but also instruction and administrative needs and transportation logistics.

The merger study forum will be held on Sep. 18 at 7:00 pm in the Southampton Hight School Auditorium. A vote on the plan is scheduled for Dec. 5. If the plan is approved, the districts will merge in the 2014-2015 school year.
