The Shinnecock Indian Nation: Its Past and Future

Residents interested in learning more about the Shinnecock Indian people, their history and culture, government and economic development programs, and their annual Native American powwow over Labor Day weekend on the Indian reservation adjacent to the Town of Southampton are invited to a League of Women Voters of the Hamptons program on Monday, September 12 at 7 p.m. in the Hampton Bays Senior Center at 25 Ponquogue Avenue.

Titled “The Shinnecock Indian Nation: Its Past and Future,” the program will be presented by two of the three members of the Shinnecock Indian Nation Board of Trustees for 2011-12—Chairman Randy King and Board member Gerrod T. Smith.

Refreshments will be served at the beginning of the program.
