South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFo)- Workshop: Writing a Nature Poem For Adults and Teenagers, 16 and Older

Participants must call (631) 537-9735 for reservations and information about meeting place

Workshop Leader: George Held, South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFo) Board of Directors

George Held, a widely published poet and the author of Culling: New and Selected Nature Poems (2013), will explore the possibilities for writing a nature poem and provide successful models for discussion. The SoFo Museum’s displays and outdoor surroundings, as well as a participant’s experience with plants and animals, offer the raw materials for writing a nature poem, and George will suggest possible forms, from haiku to free verse, for doing so. Come prepared to write.
