Fridays at Five Presents Dava Sobel

Dava Sobel, a former New York Times science reporter, will discuss her book,  A More Perfect Heaven: How Copernicus Revolutionized the Cosmos. Author of Longitude, Galileo's Daughter, and The Planets, she has written for many magazines, including Audubon, Discover, Life and The New Yorker. Additionally, she has served as contributing editor to Harvard Magazine and Omni, and authored five books, including Is Anyone Out There? with astronomer Frank Drake. Ms. Sobel has received numerous awards including the 2001 Individual Public Service Award from the National Science Board, the Bradford Washburn Award from the Boston  Museum, the Harrison Medal from the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers and the Klumpke-Roberts Award from the Astronomical Society of the Pacific.She lives in East Hampton.  Admission is $15 or $60 for a pack of 5.Gates open at 4:30. Horsd'oevres & beverages are included.
