A Spiritual Journey through the 12 Steps of Recovery

A recovery group is now forming for Adult Children of Addictive or other dysfunctional families, those in any recovery program, and those with a desire to stop compulsive or addictive behavior. Our objective will be to end addiction in our lives and to gain an understanding of the spiritual power of the twelve steps. This group is not affiliated with any particular religion or group. It is specifically designed to help rediscover and deepen the spiritual part of ourselves and recognize its importance in our lives. As the title implies, the 12 steps are a spiritual journey which can be used as a way out of self destructive behavior, as well as a laboratory in which to learn new behaviors. We will meet twice monthly to walk through the Alcoholics Anonymous’* 12 steps of recovery for a year. Though the first step focuses primarily on recovery from alcohol, they can be used for any substance. Our intention is to restore and heal our lives and relationship with God, ourselves, and others.  Each month we will focus on the corresponding step. This process takes time and patience.
