In the District, school board chairman Robert Grisnik is running for re-election unopposed, seeking a new three-year term.
Grisnik is the owner-pharmacist of in Southampton Village. He has been a member of the school board since 1982. In addition to currently chairing the board of education, he is the chairman of the Board of Commissioners and president of the Southampton Lions Club.
He is a former president of the and his other service includes his memberships in the and the Knights of Columbus.
A Vietnam veteran who served 29 years with the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard, he is also a member of the Southampton post of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He flew 213 combat missions as a command pilot, and among his 33 decorations, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with 9 Oak Leaf Clusters.
