Gwyneth Paltrow's New Hamptons Beach Magazine Buzz

Though technically not a year-round Hamptonite, intriguing summer denizen, Gwyneth Paltrow has interviewed for a premier article in the new luxury magazine “Beach” highlighting summer, sand and sensationally healthy lifestyle ideas that tie into her Hamptons NY beach house. Her article is helping to create a nice buzz for their launch. The first publication will be just in time for Memorial Day 2013. The article highlights Gwyneth’s focus on healthy living and healthy eating. An online version of the Beach article, Iron Rich, is available at this link.

Paltrow was recently crowned by People Magazine as the “World's Most Beautiful Woman” – not so easy for a 40-year-old mother of two.  It seems that a lot of women dislike Gwyneth because she is a high-achieving perfectionist and there is a bit of jealousy. But when I saw that she supports GMO labeling, that was a big plus for me. At her facebook, she wrote, "We have a right to know whats in our food! It's just a label! I am about to donate now, please join me." And she shared a link to "Right to Know."

In the Beach article there is a brief introduction followed by the interview questions. The intro answers an implied question, “What makes Gwyneth Paltrow tick?” And, the answer, “Paltrow’s still in love with life—she just tempers her passion with a little more care and caution now that she’s the mother of two: Apple, 9, and Moses, 7. …Her steadfast drive—to achieve, to be happy, to live well—Paltrow attributes to the support she always got from her family”

Last month, NBC outlined how self discipline helps iron-clad Paltrow maintain her 2-hour-a day workout regimen:

“Paltrow works out two hours every day, and says her regular workouts can be “a nightmare,” but that she pushes herself to do them by viewing staying in shape as part of her job. “Let’s face it, it’s much easier to just chill out and watch TV,” she said.”

In the Beach interview, Paltrow describes her passion to see her entire family eat healthier foods:

“The impetus for the book [It's All Good] was really getting my family a bit more healthy. My son has eczema and is allergic to gluten, so I really created this cookbook for him. I’m amazed by how many people have come up to me to thank me for the book. There are so many of us who are intolerant to gluten, and they should not have to compromise on flavor or comfort food!” And the following are a couple of notable interview questions:

What advice would you give the younger you?

“Not to worry so much; to ease up on myself; that everything happened for a reason; to embrace the obstacles… it’s all part of the soul curriculum.

The Hamptons has a bountiful selection of fresh food. Is your cooking style different here than it is in NYC?

We’re lucky to live during the summer in all of the abundance of an old farming community. I cook and eat out of my garden every day. There or the farm stand. It is my idea of heaven.

In one of her previous blog articles, Gwyneth described how she likes to do her own gardening and eat her own fresh vegetables. It’s getting a little bit late, but there’s still time to take her advice and do some spring planting:

“Spring is springing and it’s the perfect time to start planting herbs and veggies for the summer.”

If you are interested, Beach Magazine has a facebook page and Gwyneth writes her own blog material for her "digital media and e-commerce" site, Goop.

Warren’s Nursery is presently offering some pre-planted miniature herb gardens in stone planters ready to go. Just stop by the nursery at 773 Montauk Highway. Fresh herbs are so much better than the dried and bottled variety.
