Throne-Holst Plans Re-election Campaign Kickoff

Southampton Town supervisor will seek another two years in office.

Two-term Southampton Town Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst is gearing up to seek another two years at the helm of the Town Board.

Throne-Holst's 2013 campaign kickoff event is planned May 9 at Southampton Social Club in Southampton Village.

Throne-Holst, a Noyac resident, is a member of the Independence Party and she also has the Southampton Town Democratic Committee's backing. She was elected to the Town Board in 2007 as a councilwoman, and in 2009 she unseated then-Supervisor Linda Kabot. Throne-Holst's was the only name on the ballot for supervisor during her 2009 re-election campaign, after Republican Councilman Chris Nuzzi turned down his party's nomination for supervisor and the GOP failed to field another candidate. Kabot entered the race late as a write-in candidate, but Throne-Holst prevailed, 2-1.

Prior to entering politics, Throne-Holst was the director of the Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreation Center and a founder and board member of the Hayground School.

The kickoff event runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. May 9. Watch the Facebook event page for details.
