Sag Harbor Village Trustee Resigns

Tim Culver stepped down Tuesday, The Sag Harbor Express reports.

Sag Harbor Village Trustee Tim Culver tendered his resignation on Tuesday, saying that his family has decided to move to North Haven, thus making him ineligible to sit on the Board of Trustees, according to .

The Express reports that the move comes one week after the Sag Harbor police union president challenged whether Culver, who owns two properties in the village, should be allowed to continue sitting on the board after buying a home on North Haven earlier this year.

Culver has been an advocate of exploring disbanding the in favor of contracting for services with the , , or Suffolk County sheriff, according to The Express.
