Question of the Day: Will State Reps' Marriage Votes Affect Their Re-Election?
State legislators representing Southampton are on opposite sides of the same-sex marriage issue.
When the New York State Senate , Sen. Kenneth P. LaValle, R-Port Jefferson, whose district includes Southampton, was in the minority who voted against the measure.
State Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele Jr., I-Sag Harbor, voted with the majority of the Assembly in favor of same sex marriage. In fact, he cited same-sex marriage as a reason he left the Republican Party for the Independence Party.
Will Thiele and LaValle's votes affect how you vote the next time they are up for re-election? Tell us in the comments section.
