Poll: Who Has Your Vote, Tim Bishop or Randy Altschuler?

New York's First Congressional District is a toss-up once again. Who will you be voting for?

Presidential candidates took the stage recently at the Republican and Democratic National Conventions, but at home in New York's First Congressional District, a rematch between Rep. Tim Bishop and Randy Altschuler has been heating up practically since it was the country's .

. This time around Altschuler , a coup his campaign called a "game changer" when announced in March.

At the end of July, each side laid claim to a victory in preliminary polls, though no polling results have been distributed widely since then.

We've asked , and after seeing comments between Bishop, D-Southampton, and Altschuler, R-St. James, supporters fly over the past few months, it's about time we ask readers who has their vote in the local race.

So cast your vote here and let us know: who are you voting for?

David Brooks is not a conservative. Though he plays one, only by comparison at the NYTimes . http://www.therightscoop.com/krauthammer-shocks-lib-panel-um-david-brooks-is-not-a-conservative/
ARice September 18, 2012 at 03:37 PM
Romney's biggest task in the primaries was to convince conservatives he wasn't a David Brooks.

Truth, It burns it burns. Divisive pandering..... true that.

department of education. Huge tax sinkhole with negative effects constitutionally not permitted. It is a good idea to eliminate. http://www.freedomworks.org/blog/jborowski/abolishing-the-department-of-education-is-the-righ
ARice September 18, 2012 at 03:49 PM
really all good ideas. I think all departments should be on the chopping block unless they are constitutionally called for.

who do you support? why are you voting?
3vgirl September 18, 2012 at 04:09 PM
@ARice I commend you on your service to our country. Hope you are enjoying your Vet benefits because they will be gone soon if the likes of Romney/Ryan and Altschuler have their say. Then you will be enjoying all this delicious cheese you so often speak about! Talk about voting against your interests; DUH.
ARice September 18, 2012 at 04:19 PM
No vet benefits always have and always will fend for myself. Which union, soros front group, bloated bureaucracy, or political machine have you sold your soul to that lines your pockets and informs your narrative?
ARice September 18, 2012 at 04:22 PM
The cuts are coming...... either you let these sensible responsible individuals guide us back to the path of prosperity or the man-made disaster of the economic collapse is coming. Math is hard. keep your head in the sand your hand out for your free government cheese.
3vgirl September 18, 2012 at 04:29 PM
None @ARice, I'm a proud entreprenuer! Not all Vets are as lucky as you, but I guess being the true blooded Tea Partier you are, you don't care about them. Sink or swim, right? Or will the supply side economic theory of your bretheren make they are ok. Give me a break.
ARice September 18, 2012 at 04:30 PM
A tyranny of the majority is still a tyranny. The constitution is supposed to protect individual rights. If three thugs in a dark alley vote to take your money and beat you with bats it doesn't make the beating hurt less because they call it a tax or worse.... an investment in the inner-city.
ARice September 18, 2012 at 04:41 PM
Nice job Soros monkey I see you are hitting all the talking points. If wanting only registered voters to vote , vote once, be legal to vote , be alive and if necessary produce ID to prove they are the person who is entitled to vote makes me a racist.... than so be it. P.S. if you forget your ID or you lost your wallet or you are the one 90 year old hermit of hue in the US that has never had an ID..... than I think you should sign an affidavit attesting to your identity. And cast your provisional ballot.
ARice September 18, 2012 at 05:02 PM
you first set up the straw man lie that Altschuler wants to cut vet benefits. This a lie I have debunked elsewhere. You have not pointed to a single impending cut. These scare the old people tactics aren't working. How come any proposed cut to this massive bloated wasteful budget is equated to heartlessly wanting children to starve, No police, no firemen,Poison air and water. Give me a break. 1.4 Trillion debt per year over revenue. How pray-tell do you propose to keep this level of spending up? Humm anybody Bueller bueller? We are all Paul Revere's now this election is make or break. Either we turn this around or this Experiment we began in 1776 is over. The economy will collapse and if you get a benefit check or a oxymoronic Earned Income Tax Credit the check will be worthless. Inflation rate will make Jimmy Carter's 12% look good. It is possible that having slept through your history classes that you will not recognize the decades of misery that will follow. Supply side..... Damn Straight. http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/06/the_obama_nation_versus_the_reagan_sensation.html

Wow @ARice half the comments here are yours. I'm too busy running the business I built to even beign sifting through them. Enjoy your government cheese if your beloved Randy from NJ wins.
ARice September 18, 2012 at 05:36 PM

Obama has overtaken Romney on who would do a better job handling the economy, according to a new Quinnipiac University/NY Times/CBS News poll of likely Wisconsin voters. The poll also found that Mr. Obama has a 17-point edge over Romney when voters are asked if a candidate cares about their needs and problems. The findings of the poll, along with the fallout from newly exposed remarks Romney made at a fund-raiser, offer a window into the challenges confronting his campaign in important swing states during the final 48 days of the race. A man for ALL the people...President Obama.
North Fork Bob September 25, 2012 at 11:48 AM
When I look at Randy I see a sleazy avarice predator without morals or ethics.A Paul Ryan type of individual who would say or do anything to gain advanedge.I consider peddling American jobs to be a type of treason which weakens our Country and brings terrible hardship to it's citizens. He is owned by the Koch brothers and the tea party. If elected he will do exactly what he's told.
Steve Haslett September 25, 2012 at 12:15 PM
Hey Bob, are you continuing to offer up your unsolicited opinion until somebody acknowleges you? We got it. You can put rest easy and put down the thesaurus.
Steve Haslett September 25, 2012 at 12:20 PM
3vgirl, you did not build that business as stated by Obama and the platform of your party. The effort to convince you that you did not build it is part of the foundation for the next part of the plan where enough people have been convinced that you didn't build it that they support the government take over or confiscation of it. You're going to be very hungry if you don't take what the man feeds you.
North Fork Bob October 01, 2012 at 09:54 PM
Steve Randy has such a terrible resume it deserves to be repeated. How about if it was your job he outsourced? I don't use a thesaurus.Since we still have free speech I'll do what I want.Don't like it don't read it.
Jim Barry October 02, 2012 at 12:17 PM
Mr. Altschuler sent jobs overseas he's no friend of American ....that’s all that matters here...
Argile October 02, 2012 at 01:24 PM
Tim Bishop practices censorship. I got blocked from posting on his facebook page posting this. He doesn't want his brainwashed sheep to know that he voted to outsource BILLIONS of American tax dollars. Tim Bishop, the REAL outsourcer: http://www.independentsentinel.com/2012/09/outsourcer-congressman-tim-bishop/

Im relocating to North Carolina, because the company I work for in Suffolk is building a new Hq to hold about 1000 jobs. They got a good grant package to move and they are giving us a good relo package to go. I'm sorry but I do not see the opposite happening here in long island. I'm done, my family is done we are out of LI.
Argile October 11, 2012 at 02:16 AM
NC now is like what LI used to be in the 1990's. Reasonable housing market and affordable property taxes. Lost a lot of good RN's and NP's to NC these past few years. It's a no brainer to move. People there respect and appreciate the paycheck they get there. None of this ego crap "I deserve a higher salary and benefits cause I do xxxxx for a living." Best of luck and keep reminding the politicians and everyone else why you're there and what happened here that made you move.
lara buscatelli October 21, 2012 at 07:21 PM
Too bad Randy's worlld was in India, Sri Lanka, Philippines... Outsourcing over 20,000 lucrative jobs overseas for his own benefi,t is not my definition of an American Civil Servant. If his loyalty was to the American public, those jobs would have stayed here. How hypocritical, to now say you will create American jobs. Past actions speak louder than empty, dishonest words.
