Poll: Altschuler or Demos in Congressional Primary?

Tuesday marks the presidential primary in New York State, but we're more curious about the upcoming Congressional election. Who do you pick?

Though Tuesday marks New York State's presidential primary day, we're looking ahead two months as it appears quite clear the Republican nomination appears locked up.

On June 26, local Republican voters will hit the polls to choose their nominee in the 2012 congressional race.

While one candidate - Randy Altschuler, who in 2010 - Both ran in a three-way primary for the GOP nod in 2010, as Altschuler won with 45 percent of the vote and Demos finished second, earning 30 percent.

Altschuler has also earned the endorsement of the Conservative Party and unlike two years ago,.

We're curious: who would you vote for in a primary race between the two?

Is that bad or good results?
THE SOCIAL WORKER April 25, 2012 at 05:21 pm
well said Hazel. Neither will be good candidate. They are both self centered selfish types

He got paid for voting his constiuents voice... he doesn't have to author legislation to vote on legislation.

Preliator, is this what you are referring to?:
"Mr. Bishop has acknowledged that Mr. Sillerman, the billionaire chancellor of Southampton College, began in 1998 to pay college tuition for Mr. Bishop's two daughters as a gift. This fall Mr. Sillerman paid $11,000 for tuition for Mr. Bishop's youngest daughter, who is a student at Florida Atlantic University. Preliator, I too was skeptical of Mr. Bishop, but then I learned that he secured $5 million to complete our Greenway Trail which, when completed, will span from 25A in East Setauket all the way to the Port Jeff train station. It's going to be great for bikers and hikers of all ages and abilities. The phase 2 ground-breaking is in May and the project should finally be complete in couple of years.

For Randy,, Google Office Tiger. It is not pretty.
For George, Google SEC George Demos and see how he got away from nasty allegations regarding unauthorized disclosure of confidential information. Tim is ripe for a loss but not from these two
Had Enuf! April 25, 2012 at 10:56 pm
First, let's deal with the "he secured $5M for Greenway trail"....where do you think Bishop got that money from...its our tax money that we send to DC, they skim a bunch off the top at the Dept of Transportation, then politicians like Bishop "secure" it back to us minus the skim so he looks good and gets reelected. Its a con game, pure and simple. We need to send less $$ to DC and they need to "secure" a whole lot less.
As far as outsourcing , ie Office Tiger, you all need to wake up. We are in a global economy. When politicians support regulations that drive businesses overseas, whose fault is that, business or politicians? The Obama admin ( supported by Bishop, Pelosi, Reid) bailed out GM, who subsequently built manuf plants overseas, not here in the US. Why is that different, because they are Dems? Obama, supported by Bishop, Pelosi, Reid, have nixed the keystone pipeline and coal fired power plants, forcing energy jobs overseas to countries that despise us. Why is that different, because they are Dems? For all you complainers about outsourcing....sell your Toyota Prius and your iphone, they are all outsourced overseas. Oh no, why is that different? When government at all levels reduces spending, taxes and regulation, then maybe you have an argument against taking jobs overseas. WAKE UP AND BLAME THE POLITICIANS.

We have to start realizing that judging a politician by how much money he/she brings back to the district is the wrong criteria and has got us into this financial mess. We should be judging them on how much they are protecting our freedoms which get fewer and fewer each time a piece of legislation is passed. Our congressman should be representing our interests asd protecting our rights. George Demos seems the best suited to do this. If not him I would support Randy although he isn't my favorite, he will be more a part of the solution than the problem which Tim Bishop has been a part of. Tim Bishop has been complicit in Obama's financial ruin of the country.
Tom April 26, 2012 at 03:19 am
Demos is a political troll who looks like a terrorist.
He has alienated every friend he had in this county, and has burned every bridge he has ever crossed. The man is washed up. Sorry Georgie, you may have wanted to run for CD1 since you were a little boy in your parents' summer house in Shelter Island, but it's just not going to happen. So stop badmouthing Randy with that money your democrat family's business partner gave you, and go crawl back under the rock from whence you came.
Helloooo! April 26, 2012 at 03:25 am
Check,Check Helloooo!
Stimulus 1, Stimulus 2, stimulus forever. Cash for clunkers, bailouts, Obamacare (how's that constitution read?) O'care paid for by Medicare robbery. Extended payroll tax deductions while social security heads toward EMMPPPTTYYY. And on top of all this failed good news, Mr. Bishop outsources money from China(Trillions from an unregulated debt limit) to help stimulate us to buy more goods from China. Mr. Bishop's goal obviously is to outsource the United States to a fourth world oblivion.I hope to hear him put all these failed achievements in his campaign presentations. Hazel, Mr Bishop has put us in a prison based work camp.
robkoz April 26, 2012 at 03:34 am
Good point about GM. The only thing that people have against Altschuler is one instance of outsourcing of his OWN company. That's it! I can go on and on about Bishop's support of TARP which cost the taxpayers BILLIONS that we don't have and more than likely will never be able to pay back. That bothers me more than outsourcing. It cracks me up when people complain about outsourcing. Almost EVERYTHING in your home didn't come from the US. I don't like it but that's the way it is. Dems and Reps are all part of it!
Jaguar-Guy April 26, 2012 at 11:24 am
This is Bishops political payback for supporting Obama-Care, and to appease us out east to think he is doing a fabulous job. Well, the last election vote with Tim was within a couple hundred of votes with Altschuller, so this is supposed to make voters think "Dim Tim" (to quote a familar saying) is working hard for us. It is just a bribe to keep the east end libs happy and in line, hoping to keep his seat and not voted the heck out of office !!
Jaguar-Guy April 26, 2012 at 11:29 am
Correct, he outsourced to make his own company profitable. He is not about to "outsource" jobs in Suffolk County. It is time to vote out the politicians who got us into this HUGE mess, and start voting in businessmen and women that are competent strategists that get things accomplished. Bishop has tried and failed in his efforts and it is time to move on.
Peter Sivere April 29, 2012 at 01:13 pm
It would be great if you would push Demos on this. He has never publicly addressed it and as a possible congressman he should.
Conclusion The OIG investigation uncovered testimonial evidence that definitively shows that GEORGE DEMOS SEC\NYRO Staff Attorney disclosed non-public information about an informant during the course of an ongoing Enforcement investigation. In addition, we uncovered evidence that GEORGE DEMOS not only gave outside counsel for JPMorgan permission to use the non-public information about an informant against him, but actually encouraged such use. While the investigation determined that GEORGE DEMOS was counseled by his supervisor about the importance of not disclosing non-public information in December 2005, we are referring this matter to management in light of the additional evidence for consideration of further disciplinary action. http://pogoblog.typepad.com/pogo/2012/04/here-we-go-again-sec-reveals-whistleblowers-identity-to-company-under-investigation.html

Wow Tom! A terrorist! Sick, do you even know George??? He's Greek you schumck.
Jaguar-Guy April 29, 2012 at 04:58 pm
Yes, Hazel makes horrible comments every time and wonders why people do not like her comments or her. Oh, and of course "Social Worker" has to chime in and comment on LI republicans. I think they plant people on these sites, and are paid to be annoying - our tax dollars hard at work - like all those "shovel ready" jobs.
Jaguar-Guy April 29, 2012 at 04:59 pm
No Hazel, the left want more and more HANDOUTS. They take and do nothing for it.
East Hampton Retiree April 29, 2012 at 06:28 pm
Hey everybody...Republicans think Americans are STUPID. Have you heard their latest attempt to belittle Americans who disagree with them? It's their latest propagana movement. Remember back in the '50s and '60s when they called everybody who had a twitch "retarded" or "disturbed"? Now, if you don't dance the Republican Mombo, they call you "stupid". They've done it in a clever way by saying that Obama thinks women are stupid. No, Mitt, Americans aren't THAT STUPID that we fall for your mental manipulations. If you get pulled into these idiotic arguements and people like Rob call you a "Libtard", you can immediately identify it with the old Republican "Retard" tag they put on you 50 years ago.
What amazed me is that after Bush let Cheney invent the attack on American and execute it so perfectly that he then let his chimps on Wall Street wreck havoc with the economy. I thought he had more control than that, but I guess Bush was truly the puppet they said he was. Now industrial war mongers want to put their Republican whores back in the White House so they can start the next war with Iran. Republicans will start a hell of a war with Iran just so they can make billions like they did with the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Oh, don't worry about the soldiers that die, Republicans don't give a damn for them. They're just casualties...like your bank and retirement accounts...of war. We're really suckers...but we aren't stupid.
Had Enuf! April 29, 2012 at 07:08 pm
Tim BIshop.....is that you signing in as a Hampton retiree? You cannot fool us, but come November retiree will be your title.
Bishop, Pelosi, Reid........NO DIFFERENCE.
Had Enuf! April 29, 2012 at 07:31 pm
All you who think outsourcing is such a terrible thing, and won't admit we live in a global economy, THROW AWAY YOUR iPhones and MACs.

Whoa - EH Retiree - You Are Half Right ! - The Republicans Are Meglomaniacs, And Are Tied To The Industrial Complex,The Other Part Of The Problem Is The Democrats Of Having a Spending Addiction, Endless Social Programs. The Left-Right Paradigm is a Staged Event, They Are Both Laughing At Us.Time For Libertarians To Take Over, Cut The Goverment In Half,Term Limits,No Lobbyists.
Preliator April 30, 2012 at 07:16 pm
Shawn, that is really nice but any clown in office can support that. I am talking about the big issues, the big problems that face us;
Tax Reform Immigration Reform Medicade/Medicare Reform Social Security Reform Tim Bishop lacks the courage to make the tough decisions, he has become an institutionalized stooge who will do nothing to threaten the gravy train he is on. We need leaders who are willing to make tough decisions and put their careers on the line:Tim Bishop is not that man but do enjoy your bike path.
Preliator April 30, 2012 at 07:39 pm
Some one is angry today, not enough fiber in the old diet there EHR?
Center Moriches Retiree May 4, 2012 at 03:37 am
Hey EHR! The Republicans DO think we are stupid...especially women. They think we won't notice (besides unsupported wars, and an economy put flat on its back by said wars, and the Wall Street fiasco) that they are trying to bring us back in time, with birth control, and vaginal sonograms before an abortion
We strove hard to make abortion legal, to have equal rights for women...I see the Republicans as bringing us back, NOT leading us forward
Preliator May 4, 2012 at 12:41 pm
"We strove hard to make mass murder of the unborn legal..."
There, I fixed that for you CMR.

This is wrong! http://i1070.photobucket.com/albums/u492/DemosforCongress/SECPLAQUE.jpg and http://www.scribd.com/doc/77292275/Closure show that the bogus claims against George have been investigated numerous times and thrown out because they were FALSE! http://www.scribd.com/doc/72071871/Second-Dismissal is the letter to you, Peter. Stop pretending that George is to blame for this. There was no professional misconduct and the claim is CLOSED.
Ally May 6, 2012 at 09:23 pm
Terrorist? Wow - you're incredibly racist, and obviously scared of George, Tom.
He's a homegrown candidate who reveals the truth about your man, Randy, all over the place (www.thetruthaboutrandy.com) and through his TV and Radio ads and you obviously know nothing about him. He has NUMEROUS friends in the county and he didn't have to buy any of them - unlike Randy, who paid off the parties to talk nicely about him this time around (and they thought he was the worst candidate last time!). Randy is all about paying $$ to have people support him. How much did he pay you? How much did he pay for Pataki's endorsement? I know the figure, do you? It's always hilarious to me when people like you just yell out racist comments because you're so afraid your man is losing. Get used to it - Randy is a LOSER. More Republicans voted AGAINST him last time around than for him.
Ally May 6, 2012 at 09:26 pm
Oooh...what a terrible thing - vaginal sonograms before an abortion!! Give me a break! Oh, I get it. You'd prefer not to actually see the child before you murder it?
Nothing more stupid than a woman who can't even own up to the fact that abortion is wrong.
SashaK May 7, 2012 at 12:43 am
Tom..LOL ..(Just had to add that!!) I have to agree with you that he has burned many bridges and the question remains..he claims to be "The Only Conservative" ..??yet he is LITERALLY in bed with the democrats. At a time when we should be reuniting against Bishop he is creating a divide and that is the last thing we can afford to happen this time. He has stooped to levels I would have never imagined. The dirtyness of his campaign with stay with him. Randy Altschuler is a good,.honorable.humble, self made man.Demos is destroying his career with these moves. When we should be uniting to get Bishop out he does all this underhanded nasty tactics. Shame on Demos.
Tom May 7, 2012 at 03:14 am
HA!
@Valerie - Demos is Greek? Really, you don't say! ;-/ I said "looks like." And do I know George? I've had dinner with the man. @Ally - Scared? Of George? Yeah no, sorry, don't think so. I just think he's a spiteful whack-job who didn't get what he determined that he wanted, and as a result has gone berzerker on the C and R parties, while claiming some sort of self endowed mission... a mission wholly funded by democrats, mind you. And as for Randy "paying off" parties to talk nicely about him, go break out your handy dandy "Google" and search for political contributions from Randy to either the Suffolk C or GOP, and then post the results that you get here. If you honestly think that that type of money buys off political parties, then you are out of your gourd, and have no frame of reference for what you speak of. @SashaK - Yeah, that's our Georgie Porgie... Screwing a Democrat and trying to screw the Republicans. You know what I say? Screw him.
