North Haven Village Mayor Resigns

Laura Nolan steps down with a year left in her term, The Sag Harbor Express Reports.

Laura Nolan, the mayor of North Haven Village since 2002, has resigned citing personal reasons, according to The Sag Harbor Express.

The Express reports that Deputy Mayor Jim Smyth revealed the news during a Village Board meeting Tuesday.

Smyth will serve as acting mayor until July, when the board will likely appoint someone to serve out the remainder of Nolan's sixth two-year term, which will expire in 2014, the report states.
