Local Leaders Vow Civility in Wake of Arizona Shooting

Government, school, police and fire officials stood on the steps of Southampton Town Hall Friday to promote civil public discourse.

Elected officials and representatives of local police and fire departments, as well as school district superintendents, stood on the steps of Southampton Town Hall Friday for "Coming Together for Civility," an event designed for local leaders to express sympathy for the victims of last Saturday's shooting in Arizona and to make a public commitment to civil discourse regardless of personal beliefs or party affiliation.
