Election 2011: Linda Kabot, Supervisor Candidate

Former supervisor wages write-in campaign to regain post.

Former Southampton Town Supervisor Linda Kabot, 43, lost her bid for re-election in 2009 but now, after the Republicans failed to put a candidate on the ballot to oppose current supervisor Anna Throne-Holst, she is running as a write-in candidate.

A Quogue resident, Kabot is a registered Republican. She is an honors graduate of both Westhampton Beach School District and Hobart and William Smith College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology and education in the pre-medicine sequence. She was provisionally certified in elementary education.

Before being elected in 2007 to a two-year term as town supervisor, Kabot was a town councilwoman for six years and executive assistant to the supervisor for the six years prior to that.

Her name will not appear on the ballot, but her name can be written in at the bottom of column 15.

Kabot in her own words:

I am running as a WRITE-IN Candidate to provide voters with a CHOICE. With my candidacy, I am encouraging voters to SEND A MESSAGE FROM THE PEOPLE that it’s NOT about political party labels, special interest groups or building cozy relationships. IT’S THE PEOPLE’S ENDORSEMENT THAT COUNTS!

It’s about delivering GOOD GOVERNMENT for the PEOPLE of this great Town. It’s about sound fiscal management, less spending, less government and working in the best interests of our taxpayers and residents. Send a message that Southampton Town needs values-based leadership and open, honest government. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. For me, it’s about service above self. It’s about COURAGE and STRENGTH OF CHARACTER. It’s about achieving REAL RESULTS.

People know that I am honest, hard-working, and I really did the heavy-lifting to slash government spending and put our Town back on the right track financially.  As Supervisor, I put an end to misleading budgets, implemented tighter controls, and provided transparent financial management. I am asking voters to STAND UP for me like I stood up for the taxpayers.

VOTERS: You need to decide who can you really TRUST? We need a person at the top who won’t do you wrong, won’t lie to you or mislead you, and get all wrapped in her ego.

As a lifelong Town resident, property owner and taxpayer, I can provide BETTER REPRESENTATION as your Town Supervisor.

Because my name is NOT on the ballot – I NEED YOU to write my name on your paper ballot when you go to the polls. It’s EASY to Vote by WRITE-IN. Go to the bottom of Column#15 for Supervisor and IN THE WRITE-IN BOX, PRINT LINDA KABOT.

I am grateful for the support of so many people from all walks of life, from all political stripes, throughout Southampton Town.
