Incumbents Earn New 2-Year Terms in Sagaponack

Elected was uncontested.

In an uncontested election, two Sagaponack Village trustees earned new terms Friday.

Joy Sieger received 47 votes and William Barbour received 46.

Sieger is founding trustee, elected when the village was formed. In 2011, Sieger's was the only name on the ballot in a race for two seats after incumbent Patrick Guarino failed to file his nominating petition in time. Sieger was re-elected with 76 votes.

Barbour defeated Guarino in a write-in match in 2011, receiving 68 votes to Gaurino's 27.

On Friday, one write-in vote was cast for Roland A. Cain.

Terms are for two years.
