State Sen. Charles Fuschillo, R-Merrick, announced on Tuesday that he will be leaving the New York State Senate. Fuschillo said that starting in January he will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

Incumbents Scott Mandel and Eileen Goggin and newcomer Anthony Eramo, all Democrats who garnered the most votes in the at-large election for three open seats on the Long Beach City Council last November, were sworn in as members of the council during an induction ceremony at City Hall on New Year’s Day.
