NYS Senate Democratic Primary Debate

With the New York State primary election coming up on Thursday, September 13, the League of Women Voters of the Hamptons invites the community to a NYS Senate Democratic primary debate between Bridget Fleming and Jennifer Maertz on Wednesday, August 29, at 7 p.m. at Southampton’s Rogers Memorial Library, 91 Coopers Farm Road.

            The winner of that primary election will run against NYS Senator Kenneth LaValle (R) in the general election on Tuesday, November 6.

Format consists of the candidates making timed opening and closing statements and answering questions posed by the League and the audience. Debate organizer is LWVH voter services chair Anne Marshall.

The debate is being videotaped by SEA-TV for later viewing on Southampton’s public access Channel 22. For those not living in Southampton Town, the program can be seen on their website at www.Southhamptontownny.gov at the same time the debate is showing on Channel 22.
