Schneiderman in his own words:

I am running for Suffolk County Legislator so that I may continue to deliver for the residents of my district. For eight consecutive years I have kept County property taxes from going up.  I have been a leader in addressing community issues and protecting our environment. My efforts have led directly to the preservation of thousands of acres of land on the East End as well as many initiatives to reduce toxins in our waters. Today the , the main road through Southampton, because of my efforts to widen the road and break the bottleneck. For the first time have in the summertime. My web site www.voteforjay.com lists over 100 accomplishments.

As your legislator I have fought tirelessly for our fair share from the county.  Because of my ability to build strong coalitions of support across party lines, for the first time our district is receiving the attention it deserves. Currently there are major capital projects going on throughout the district including a road safety project in Westhampton, a storm water control project in Hampton Bays, a new two-mile sidewalk in Bridgehampton and the dredging of 3 Mile Harbor in East Hampton. Our towns are receiving millions more from the county for our local police. Some $100 million has been spent in the district to preserve our open spaces and farmland.

Being born in this district and having a background as an educator, businessman, father, and a record of public service that includes eight years as legislator and four years as Town Supervisor, well qualify me to address current challenges. I have made great progress in improving public safety, revitalizing our communities, improving our infrastructure and preserving our environment, but there is still more that I would like to accomplish.
