Good luck Ms. Maertz, I hope you win against George Lynch's campaign against you.
Earl Long September 13, 2012 at 04:49 PM
It's not just Mr. Lynch! Team Fleming wins today and then we will elect a State Senator with integrity. Not only will she represent all of us in district one but she will fight the corruption that Lavalle and his team have brought Albany.

yeah team flemming.... http://www.elections.ny.gov:8080/reports/rwservlet?cmdkey=efs_sch_report+p_filer_id=C48615+p_e_year=2012+p_freport_id=J+p_transaction_code=F and this link showing how flemming paid 900 to the patch for advertising. Bought and paid for?
GavinQuik September 13, 2012 at 05:21 PM

here is a good one with Mr George P. Lynch's name listed and an interesting explination attached; Just a volunteer:) George, you are too modest.. http://www.elections.ny.gov:8080/reports/rwservlet?cmdkey=efs_sch_report+p_filer_id=C48615+p_e_year=2011+p_freport_id=D+p_transaction_code=A

george is on page 3 of that last link. Saw this claim on Flemmings site: Southampton Town Councilwoman Fleming campaign reports raising $53,908.26 as of the July 11th deadline, with 77% of contributions coming from individuals who gave $250 or less.. Having looked at the other records its doubtful this statement is anywhere near true.
GavinQuik September 13, 2012 at 05:48 PM
but where is George? I cant wait to hear him defend his position that like this gem "George Lynch 12:35 pm on Sunday, May 27, 2012 Anyone who's surprised or disappointed when an elected official seeks higher office just hasn't been paying attention for a long while. They all do it, and they've always done it. And why not? Moving up is the American way. Besides, we don't exactly encourage these people to stay in place when we set term limits on them." Nice statement to defend Flemming's choice to run after months earlier having sworn to a four year term on the town board.
GavinQuik September 13, 2012 at 05:51 PM
SirPooch? You have been there as well from day one. If it was not for people like you interfering with the political process by attempting to sway people your way, democracy might actually have a legitimate chance, but you taint all you touch on line. I will not be bullied you guys:)
GavinQuik September 13, 2012 at 05:53 PM
found a vid on you tube after her council seat win last november commiting to the people of southampton.... wanna see?
GavinQuik September 13, 2012 at 06:02 PM
so what was the 900$ that flemming paid to the Patch for "online-advertisment" used for? I dont see an ad or banner, no pop-ups..... what was the money used for? Tell us George..... please.. ps. george does not need to know me. I know him. George Lynch 8:43 am on Thursday, September 13, 2012 'As Sir P says, there are several of us out there who are backing Bridget and commenting on Patch"
GavinQuik September 13, 2012 at 06:03 PM
but not getting paid for trying to take control over the debate? like I have just done in my little rant? would you like more links? See you on the next thread!
SirPoochala September 13, 2012 at 06:27 PM
I am not being paid to state my opinion and now you are starting to post lies so please check your postings. Like many of us, Councilwoman Fleming can do more than one thing at a time. In order to run for Senate she has put her law practice on hold. Don't forget, by Town statute the council position is part-time. I see no evidence whatsoever that she stopped delivering on her Council role while she has been running for State Senate. None whatsoever. You are starting to bleed into libel. I think you've crossed over the slippery slope between truth and lies and should reign it back in. Also it is my understanding that the checks paid could be for past elections so not seeing ads on Patch today mean absolutely nothing with what you are seeing in a election account posting. You are drawing conclusions and putting them forward as fact. You might want to stop doing that. Thank you. BTW, the political process is a dialogue. I'm not "interfering;" I'm participating in it. I most certainly do not appreciate your attempt to slander me. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, including you and me without being slandered. You can make any legitimate points on a blog but I am going to call you out when your behavior becomes inappropriate. Sharing my opinions is not bullying. I haven't once "bullied" you. Cut it out.
SirPoochala September 13, 2012 at 06:27 PM
where's the evidence?
GavinQuik September 13, 2012 at 09:04 PM
ok pooch......... SirPoochala 11:36 pm on Friday, May 25, 2012 Hey Frog - why do you assume that someone can't explore running for another office while covering a part-time position on the Town Board? Malone has a full-time government job while he is supposedly at Town Hall during government work hours fulfilling his function as a Town Board Member. How do you know the exposure to issues that the other Towns in this district have and perhaps learning about their good practices won't benefit SH Town? Your statements and assumptions are off base. To Hazel - before you make damning statements about someone being "in the bag" present your proof. Just because she didn't have time to respond to a letter doesn't mean that she is on the developer's sides. It is comments like yours that limit the pool of people brave enough to run for elected office. Can we please keep to the facts? Thank you.
GavinQuik September 13, 2012 at 09:06 PM
SirPoochala 12:18 pm on Saturday, May 26, 2012 Frog - I agree that the town board position should not be part-time but it is. why don't you suggest a referendum to change the town law? also are you familiar with her life? maybe she will stop practicing law while she ponders running? maybe she has help with her family life - like from her husband. do you live inside or her house?
East Hampton Retiree September 13, 2012 at 09:10 PM
This will be over in a matter of hours...Jennifer will be the Dem's candidate, in my humble opinion. Now, if you'll pardon me...I'm off to vote.
SirPoochala September 13, 2012 at 09:21 PM
are you helping to make my point by stalking me online? I don't get your point?
SirPoochala September 13, 2012 at 09:21 PM
what is your point by searching for my postings online? That I am consistent with my statements?
GavinQuik September 13, 2012 at 09:25 PM
Do you live inside her house Pooch? you seem to know things very close to the campaign several months in advance. As for the libel accusation... do you want to know how I know that the IRS was looking into a contribution? I REPORTED IT:) By no means will Ms Flemming be affected. She has no responsibility to verify that all are her contributors are able to contribute.. but there was a filing of a contribution with no name, just an nyc address.. so, when you search for the name that corresponds with the address you find a non profit agency. I know what the defenitions of libel (Noun: A published false statement that is damaging to a person's reputation; a written defamation. Verb: Defame (someone) by publishing a libel.) I issued no false statement. I presented no opinions as fact. If you are really not George, you certainly do spin things the way he does.
GavinQuik September 13, 2012 at 09:46 PM
You have been so eager to tear down Mrs. maertz for 6 months. During this time you have promoted Flemming as someone who can do no wrong. I hope Mrs. Maertz comes out ahead today. Despite the online abuse that has appearanyly been your mission since Flemming announced her that she was running. I have paid close attention to this race because I feel Ken Lavalle has served his time and then some. 36 years or so is not the important point to me, it is the 18 elections that happened along the way. You should have stood behind Ms. Maertz again. When Flemming decided to one up her last election win, you should have reminded her of her commitment to the town council. She wanted the job, she got the job, now she should do that job. Aspire for higher office by all means... Just give it maybe, just maybe, at the very least, a year. In march she it was reported that she was launching an exploratory group to look into runnig. Later that week she announced that she was running, and all of this only three months into a four year term. The people of southhampton should be furious.
GavinQuik September 13, 2012 at 09:47 PM
This is not politics at its best. If you have any specific questions please ask for me to site specific reference. I only speak and type when I have physical evidence to support my claim, keeps me protected from falsely being accused of making things up. I suppose I would ask Malone to defend me, since you are under the impression that, let me quote..."Malone has a full-time government job while he is supposedly at Town Hall during government work hours fulfilling his function as a Town Board Member". Would that be construed as Libel? You should be mad that you wrote it. Not that I quote it.
GavinQuik September 13, 2012 at 09:49 PM
ps, By you, I mean George, his alias' and his chronies. No offense toward anyone that feels Flemming is the more suitable candidate. As pointed out we are all entitled to opinions, but sometimes facts become necessary in order to make an educated and responsible decision.
GavinQuik September 13, 2012 at 10:18 PM
No pooch, Its that you have been tryin to sway people in such a manner. Mention an issue and you would have my understanding. You and George's 'opinions' have rarely adressed the topic of the article. It always gets twisted into what you think people should think. You ask me for proof or evidence but you offer none. just opinion. While I respect your opinion, I do not agree.
GavinQuik September 13, 2012 at 10:25 PM
I apologize for having dominated this conversation to such an extent. I simply could not take their coordinated attack against Ms. Maertz any longer. Again, my sincerest apologies.
GavinQuik September 13, 2012 at 10:28 PM
Did this come from her website, a brochure, or 'off the top of your head', sounds like an ad to me.
GavinQuik September 13, 2012 at 10:29 PM
Well done Hazel.
GavinQuik September 13, 2012 at 10:41 PM
"Also it is my understanding that the checks paid could be for past elections so not seeing ads on Patch today mean absolutely nothing with what you are seeing in a election account posting" I see no political ads on the patch. if one is out there, or has been please prove it. When you stop making things up I will cut it out. Until then I have ample free time. Your move.
GavinQuik September 13, 2012 at 10:41 PM

Congratulations Mr. Lynch. Your tactics seem to have paid off. A great diservice has been done both to the Democrats of the first senate district and the people of southampton town.
