Bridgehampton Committee Backs Bag Ban

The Bridgehampton Citizens Advisory Committee wants the Town Board to revive a proposal to ban plastic shopping bans.

A majority of Bridgehampton Citizens Advisory Committee members voted Monday for the committee to urge the Board to implement a ban of single-use plastic shopping bags, reports.

Bag ban legislation has been in limbo since December, when the Republican-Conservative Town Board majority a resolution to schedule a public hearing. Without a hearing, the Town Board cannot vote the legislation up or down.

The Bridgehampton Citizens Advisory Committee was not unanimous in its decision, according to The Express' report.
