Biden Visit Restricts Air Space Around East Hampton Airport

Vice president expected at fundraiser for Obama in Bridgehampton on Friday night.

With the on Friday, air space has been restricted.

On Tuesday, "a temporary flight restriction for VIP movement" was issued beginning on Friday at 6:30 p.m. and ending on Saturday at 1 a.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration website.

It affects the in Wainscott, according to East Hampton Town Councilman Dominick Stanzione, who is the town board liaison to the airport. He said only the northwest corridor will be utilized during the time frame of the temporary restriction.

The degrees of latitude and longitude are available on the FAA website.

Pilots may not operate an aircraft in the areas covered by the restriction, except for military, law enforcement and medevac operations supporting the Secret Service and the office of the vice president.

"I think it's important that residents of East Hampton be aware that the FAA has ordered East Hampton Airport to restrict operations in this manner," Stanzione said.

Nathan Lane is hosting an "East End for Obama" fundraiser for the president's re-election campaign at the Bridgehampton home of Ellen Chesler and Matthew Mallow on Friday. James Taylor will perform. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, of New York, Sen. Frank Lautenberg, of New Jersey, and Rep. Tim Bishop, of Southampton, are expected to attend.

The host committee consists of Vera Wang, Julianne Moore, Isaac Mizrahi, Dorothy Lichtenstein, Barry Sonnenfeld and Edie Falco — just some of the guests who have contributed or raised at least $10,000.

Actually it is so the planes don't scare poor Joe. In his state of mind these new fangled flying machines are terrifying when he comes out of his medicated stupor.

Yeah Biden, what a mess- not a real bright bulb like Mitt who will say anything and change any view to get elected or Paul Ryan who draws his inspiration from Ayn Rand.

Biden - it is beyond being less than a bright bulb, the light isn't even on. And to imply Biden has not changed positions on issues, just go back and look at his record on things like No Child Left Behind and support for the Iraq war. Flip flop and change. Add that to the light in the off position and let's just say Biden is not an asset to Obama. Whether you agree with Ryan on the issues, the bottom line is that he is so far superior to Biden in intelligence, the ability to develop ideas and solutions that are at least worthy of discussion, and understanding and recognizing the problems left unaddressed that I wish he was debating Biden 5 or 6 times, rather than just one.
