Bellone to Run for Re-Election in 2015

County executive announces Monday that he will seek a second term.

The election may still be two years away, but Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone announced Monday night that he plans to seek a second term in office in 2015.

According to a Newsday report, Bellone made the announcement at a fundraiser at the Huntington Hilton after joking that he wasn't "going to be making any news tonight."

Bellone, a Democrat, was elected to office in 2011 after serving 10 years as Babylon Town supervisor.

No word yet on any potential Republican challengers in 2015.

How would you grade Bellone's tenure so far as county executive? Let us know in the comments section below.
