Woman Taken to Hospital After SUV Strikes Tree in Bridgehampton
Injuries described as "minor"
A woman driving west on Old Sag Harbor Road in Bridgehampton on Tuesday afternoon lost control of her SUV and crashed into a tree, Bridgehampton Fire Department Chief Gary Horsburgh said.
The fire department was called to the scene shortly after 1 p.m., and the chief's vehicles were used to block the road, which Horsburgh said was covered in snow at the time of the crash. The passenger side of the SUV hit the tree, and the woman suffered a bump to her head, according to the chief. He said the fire department ambulance company took her to Southampton Hospital.
Horsburgh said the woman was wearing her seatbelt, and the impact of the crash did not cause the airbag to deploy. She was the sole occupant of the SUV, which was towed.
