Water Mill Woman Arrested on Felony Burglary Charges

The following information was supplied by the Southampton Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

Southampton Town police arrested a 39-year-old Water Mill woman after they said she stole almost $8,000 from two acquaintances.

Police learned that in August that Joanna Steidle stole $4,250 cash from an acquaintance of hers who lives on Bayview Drive West in North Sea, said according to Det. Sgt. Lisa Costa. The following month, Costa said Steidle stole $3,000 cash from someone she knew who lives on Parkway Drive in Noyack.

Officers charged Steidle with two counts of second degree burglary, a felony, at police headquarters on Saturday shortly before 9:00 a.m.
