Village Police Log: More Arrests Made in Main Street Brawl

Two Mastic Beach teens arrested following mass fight in November. Also this week, man charged with throwing a bicycle at a car.

Arrests for the week of Dec. 11 through Dec. 17:

Two Arrested in Connection With Brawl

• On Dec. 16, two Mastic Beach teens were arrested following a brawl on Nov. 25 that started at 75 Main and spilled onto Main Street, police said.

Christina Dawson, 19, and Crystal Dawson, 18, were charged with assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor.

The 911 call reporting a "large fight" in front of the restaurant, which was holding an 18-and-older event came at 3:05 a.m. that day, according to police.

Village police said that both Southampton Town and New York State police were called in to help disperse the crowd. Though no serious injuries were reported, several people were taken to Southampton Hospital.

Criminal Mischief

John J. Finn, 49, of Southampton, was arrested Dec. 15 at 5:33 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor. Police said Finn was drunk and standing in the parking lot of Waldbaum's, screaming obscenities.  According to police, he then picked up a bicycle and threw it into a parked car.

Criminal Impersonation

Oscar R. Canel, 20, of Riverhead, was arrested Dec. 13 at 3:44 p.m. and charged with criminal impersonation in the second degree and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree, both misdemeanors. His vehicle was impounded and he was released after posting $250 bail, police said.
