Village Police Log: Man Charged with False Personation

Enrique David Hernandez-Pelaez, 21, of East Hampton was arrested Saturday at about 2:51 a.m. and charged with false personation, a misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a violation.

According to the New York State Penal Law, "A person is guilty of false personation when after being informed of the consequences of such act, he or she knowingly misrepresents his or her actual name, date of birth or address to a police officer or peace officer with intent to prevent such police officer or peace officer from ascertaining such information."

Bench Warrant Issued

Village police said the has issued a warrant for Ansberto Cantero, 22, of Southampton. Police are urging Cantero to contact the village police department at 631-283-0056 to avoid further police action. Police are also asking anyone who knows Cantero’s whereabouts to call.
