Village Police Log: Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Assault
Police said Sayville woman brought child to Southampton to be disciplined by older relative.

Endangering the Welfare of a Child
Eboni N. Smith, 32, of Sayville was arrested Monday at approximately 6:15 p.m. and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. Police said Smith took a 14-year-old girl to a residence of an older relative to be disciplined. The 14-year-old sustained bruising to her face and body, according to police. Police also notified Child Protective Services. Smith was processed and released after posting $200 bail.

Assault
Kayla Teresz Jerido, 18, of Southampton was arrested Dec. 31 at 10:32 a.m. and charged with assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor. Police said she assaulted a 14-year-old girl.

Criminal Possession, Forgery and Impersonation
Alexander R. Stroh, 19, of Lake Ronkonkoma was arrested on Dec. 24 at approximately 12:54 a.m. and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, criminal possession of a forged instrument in the third degree, forgery in the third degree and false impersonation, all misdemeanors. He was processed and held for morning arraignment.
Petit Larceny
Maryann Walsh, 37, of Wainscott was arrested on Jan. 1 at about 11 p.m. and charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Police said Walsh stole two Snickers bars from 7-Eleven valued at $3.67.
Charges are merely accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law. A name will only be removed if the accused has been acquitted and can provide a certificate of disposition. Contact the editor to make such a request.
