Village Police Log: 'Car Trouble' Leads to Trouble With Cops.

Also this week, a man picked up on a bench warrant is found with cocaine, cops say.

Arrests by Southampton Village police during the week of May 28 to June 3:

Drugs

• Craig N. Weiss, 23, of Montauk, was arrested May 29 at 4:25 p.m. and charged with five counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and of criminally possessing drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors.  Police said Weiss appeared to be having car trouble in the parking lot of the McDonald's on County Road 39. When an officer stopped to offer assistance, the officer saw syringe caps, police said, and further investigation turned up more syringes as well as  cocaine and suboxone.  The vehicle was impounded and Weiss was held for morning arraignment.

• Diego F. Montoya, 27, of East Hampton, was arrested May 28 at 12:33 p.m. on an outstanding bench warrant for failure to appear in court, police said.  He was found with cocaine, according to police, and additionally charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor.

Trespass

• Luis S.R. Vera, 39, of Southampton, was arrested June 2 at 7:31 p.m. and charged with criminal trespass in the third degree, a misdemeanor.  Police said they were called to the Southampton Publick House when an intoxicated patron refused to leave. When officers arrived and tried to escort Vera off the premises, he refused and was subsequently arrested, police said. He was held for morning arraignment.
