Vehicles Rummaged Through on Old Field Road

Also, ATV tears up Southampton Golf Club greens.

Crimes and suspicious incidents recently reported east of the Shinnecock Canal to the Southampton Town Police Department:

Grand Larceny

• A North Haven woman told police May 19 that someone threw a large rock through the front passenger window of her vehicle while it was parked on Old Field Road in North Sea. Three $100 bills and $200 in fifties and twenties were taken from the vehicle, plus a driver's license, miscellaneous clothing and an orange snakeskin bag and wallet valued at $500, the report states.

• A North Sea woman told police May 19 that sometime overnight someone took her wallet from her vehicle, parked in his driveway on Old Field Road. The wallet contained ID, her and her son's social security cards, a debit card, gift cards and cash, according to the incident report.

• The caretaker of a Southampton property on Millstone Brook Road told police May 16 that he discovered a generator valued at $5,000 was stolen from a porch overhang attached to a cottage.

Burglary

• A Sag Harbor man reported May 16 that sometime overnight someone kicked in the back door of a garage on Noyac Road and took a Dewalt cordless 12-volt drill, a Dewalt compound miter saw and a miter saw stand.

Criminal Mischief

• An employee of Southampton Golf Club told police May 19 that sometime overnight someone on an ATV drove through the course damaging the third and fourth greens. The ATV appears to have come and left from St. Andrews Road, the report states.
