Town Police Log: Southampton Woman Crashes into Shrubs, Charged with Driving While Ability Impaired

Police say Jaime White, 24, had pot and non-narcotic pills.

DWI

On April 18, John Saleski, 52, of Southampton was arrested in Sag Harbor on Sag Harbor Turnpike on charges of DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said that when Saleski was stopped for a traffic infraction, they found he was intoxicated.

Possession of a Forged Instrument

On April 13, Benigno Boch-Coc, 49, of Bridgehampton, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, a violation, and criminal possession forged instrument in the second degree, a felony. He was arrested on Long Neck Boulevard in Flanders. Police say Boch-Coc, who was intoxicated, was blocking traffic on Long Neck Road. After interviewing him, police found that he had fake alien and social security cards.

Drugs

On April 15, David Olesker, 69, was arrested on charges of driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor, and moving from a lane unsafely, a traffic infraction. Police said that while driving on Sandy Hollow Road in Southampton Olesker struck another vehicle. Police found that Olsker was driving while on prescription pills, according to the arrest report. The driver of the car he hit was taken to Southampton Hospital with minor injuries.

A 21-year-old Mastic man was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, on March 30.  He was also ticketed for speeding. Police say they pulled him over on Inlet Road East in Southampton for speeding when they noticed a strong smell of pot coming from his car. Police say he admitted to having a grinder and a pipe in his glove box.  He was issued an appearance ticket and released.

Jamie White, 24, of Southampton was arrested on April 16 on charges of driving while ability impaired by drugs on Oaktree Lane in Hampton Bays. She was also charged with not wearing a seat belt and moving from a lane unsafely, having her driver’s view obstructed and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Police say White was caught after she drove her car into shrubs. They said she was acting in a strange manner. She was found to be in possession of an unmarked bottle of non-narcotic bills and an unmarked bottle of marijuana, which was found in the front seat.  She performed poorly on a drug impairment test and was taken to for minor injuries, police said.

Endangering the Welfare of a Child

Peter Burdge, 53, of East Quogue was arrested on Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton on April 15 on charges of criminal contempt in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors. Police said Burdge left his 10-year-old daughter in a car alone for a period of time in Bridgehampton. He was also charged with violating an active order of protection.  He was arrested at his home in East Quogue.
