Town Police Log: Pulled Over Going 90, DWI Charged

Southampton Town police arrest reports for east of the Shinnecock Canal from Feb. 20 to Feb. 26:
DWI
• William Walsh, 24, of Remsenburg, was arrested Feb. 25 at 11:15 p.m. on Montauk Highway in Sagaponack and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. He was additionally charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, a misdemeanor, and speeding, a traffic infraction. Walsh was stopped by police after he was observed traveling 91 miles per hour in a 40-mile-per-hour zone and was found to be intoxicated, according to the arrest report.

• Renee Despins, 68, of Sag Harbor, was arrested Feb. 19 at 9:19 p.m. on Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton. She was , a misdemeanor, and moving from his lane unsafely, a traffic infraction. Police said Despins was pulled over after they observed her failing to obey a traffic light and veering left on the road.

• Cassandra Strumph, 22, of Southampton, was arrested Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. at the Bridgehampton Commons shopping center on a charge of petty larceny, a misdemeanor. Police said Strumph stole $87.44 worth of items from Claire's boutique, including faux hair, gloves and leg warmers. The store manager reported the incident.
