Town Police Log: Boss's iPhone Swiped; Tools and Equipment Reported Stolen

The following information was supplied by the Southampton Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

arrest and incident reports for east of the Shinnecock Canal from Nov. 14 through Nov. 21:

Petty Larceny

• Armond Gordon, 40, of Southampton was arrested Friday at 11:13 p.m. on Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton and charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. According to police, Gordon stole his former boss's iPhone in August from a table at the where he worked.

DWI

• Juan Matias, 29, of Riverhead was arrested Thursday at 10:59 a.m. at the corner of County Road 39 and Tuckahoe Road in Southampton and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police received a call about an erratic driver running other motorists off the road, identified him as Matias and pulled him over. Police then discovered he appeared intoxicated.

Driving While Ability Impaired

• Philip Monfoletto, 22, of Deer Park was arrested Sunday at 1:59 a.m. at the corner of County Road 39 and Magee Street and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor. Monfoletto was stopped for not using his blinker when an officer discovered he smelled of marijuana, police said. Monfoletto admitted that he had smoked marijuana several hours ago, according to police reports.

Criminal Contempt

• Lester Pettaway, 19, of Southampton was arrested Monday at 2:30 a.m. on Apple Road in Southampton and charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor. Pettaway violated a stay away order of protection in a domestic incident, according to police.

Disorderly Conduct

• A 55-year-old man from Flanders was arrested Nov. 14 at 10:04 a.m. on Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton and charged with disorderly conduct, a violation. Police were called to Montauk Highway and saw the man running westbound on the thoroughfare and discovered he was intoxicated. He cursed at police officers, according to the arrest report.

Larceny

• A 36-year-old Southampton man told police that sometime between 10:30 p.m. Nov. 13 and 5 a.m. Nov. 14 someone went onto his Edge of Woods Road property and stole his homemade gas-powered log splitter, valued at between $1,000 and $3,000, according to police reports. Police are investigating.

• A 40-year-old man from East Hampton told police that sometime between 1:40 p.m. Saturday and 6:30 a.m. Monday someone stole two Honda generators from his place of work on Millstone Road in Bridgehampton, according to reports. Police will use video footage to investigate the incident.

• A 55-year-old man from Bridgehampton told police that sometime 9 a.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. Thursday someone went into his tow trailer parked on Mitchells Lane in Bridgehampton and stole $3,315 worth of tools, including a sander, joiner, skill saw and roofing nailer. The man told police he had padlocked the trailer and then saw one of the locks was removed and taken with the tools, according to reports. Police are investigating.
