Town Police Log: Officers Subdue Sag Harbor Man in DWI Arrest

Southampton Town Police arrests from April 25 to May 2.

DWI

John Nelson, 49, of Sag Harbor was arrested Sunday and charged him with DWI and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors. Police said Nelson was stopped at Shinnecock Avenue in East Quogue for having non-transparent side windows. Police found that he was intoxicated. Police said he also refused arrest and had to be subdued.

Criminal Contempt

A Bridgehampton woman was arrested Sunday and charged withcriminal contempt. Police says Sara Lloyd, 66, went to the house of her estranged husband, who had an order of protection against her.

Drugs

Police arrested Joe Coffey, 48, of Southampton Wednesday and charged him with criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth and seventh degrees, midemeanors. He was also charged with criminal impersonation in the second degree, a misdemeanor.

Burglary

North Sea Plumbing and Heating in Southampton reported to police on Tuesday that someone broke through the business’ chain fence and stole copper, valued at more than $1,000 from various work trucks parked in the business' lot.
