Town Police Log: North Sea Man Arrested After Firing Rifle

Discharging Firearm
William Graap, 48, of North Sea was arrested Wednesday at 7:59 p.m. at his home on Kennedy Drive in North Sea and charged with discharging a firearm, a misdemeanor. Police responded to a call reporting a gun shot in the area, according to the arrest report. Graap admitted he fired a round from his rifle at a stump, police said. A neighbor spotted Graap walking away from a nature trail behind his house carrying the gun, according to police documentation.

DWI
Arturo Cruz-Rojas, 22, of Southampton was arrested Sunday at 4:07 a.m. the corner of Montauk Highway East and Canoe Place Road in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said Cruz-Rojas was stopped for driving out of lane.

Wilson Tamay, 37, of Patchogue was arrested Sept. 12 at 6:35 p.m. at the corner of County Road 39 and Tuckahoe Road in Southampton and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said Tamay was stopped for tailgating.
