Town Police Log: Man Punched in Car Window, Broke Woman's iPhone

The following arrest information was supplied by the Southampton Town Police Department. It does not indicate guilt.

Criminal Mischief

Steven Espinoza, 37, of Hampton Bays was arrested Friday at 11:02 p.m. at the corner of Noyac and Fish Cove roads in North Sea and charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, fourth-degree criminal mischief and driving with a suspended registration, both misdemeanors, and second-degree harassment, a violation. A woman with whom Espinoza was arguing with ran away from him, locked herself in a car in the driveway and then tried to call 911, police said. Espinoza ran out to the car, punched the driver’s side window in, and broke her iPhone, police said. He then drove away, until the police found him and arrested him, according to the arrest report.

Petit Larceny

Isabelle Arnone, 24, of East Hampton was arrested on Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton Friday at 10:28 p.m. and charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. Arnone was seen walking out of without paying for a bikini and sundress, worth a total of $53.98, that she had put in her handbag, police said.

DWI

Donna Hippner, 52, of Southampton was arrested Tuesday at 10:04 p.m. at the corner of Scotts Landing Road and Noyac Road in North Sea and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Hippner was stopped for not staying in the lane of traffic, police said.

Julio Cesar Bautista, 20, of Southampton was arrested May 23 at 1:20 a.m. on Sugarloaf Road in Shinnecock Hills and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Bautista lost control of his car, slid on loose gravel and struck a utility pole along the road, police said.

Steven Janketic, 28, of Shirley was arrested Saturday at 3:51 a.m. at the corner of County Road 39 and Shrubland Road in Southampton and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police had stopped Janketic for speeding, according to the arrest report.

Steven R. Romano, 28, of Shirley was arrested Saturday at 4:13 a.m. on Sunrise Highway in Southampton and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police had stopped Romano for speeding, according to police.
