Town Police Log: Man Hit Neighbor in Head With Beer Bottle, Cops Say

Also among the week's arrests, two DWIs.

Arrests from east of the Shinnecock Canal, Sept. 24 to 30:

• Alvaro Ramirez-Potrero, 40, of North Sea, was arrested Sept. 30 at 9:02 p.m. and charged with felony second-degree assault after police said he was involved in a dispute in North Sea with his ex-girlfriend's neighbor. According to the report, Ramirez-Potrero smashed the victim in the head with a glass beer bottle. Ramirez-Potrero was additionally charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor.

Driving While Intoxicated

• Richard DePetris, 36, of Southampton, was arrested Sept. 29 on a charge of DWI, a misdemeanor, on Noyac Road in North Sea at 2:31 a.m. Cops said DePetris was involved in a motor vehicle accident and subsequently fled the scene. DePetris was additionally charged with leaving the scene of an accident, a violation.

• Heriberto Otero, 48, of Sag Harbor, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated Sept. 28 in Southampton at 8:43 a.m. after being involved in an accident on County Road 39A. Otero, police reported, was also driving with a suspended license and he was additionally charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, a misdemeanor.
