Town Police Log: Man Admitted to Using Heroin in Gas Station Restroom, Cops Say

• Michael C. Gilliam, 45, of Southampton, was arrested July 22 at 9:37 p.m. in Southampton on County Road 39 and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Police said they responded to a Hess gas station on a call of a suspicious person in the restroom. When interviewed, Gilliam said he used heroin in the bathroom and had more in his pocket, according to the arrest report. He was also found to have marijuana, police said.

• Glenn D. Walsberg, 38, of Moriches, was arrested July 24 at 10:27 p.m. in Southampton and charged with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor, and moving from lane unsafely, a traffic infraction. Police said they responded to a call of an erratic motorist driving westbound on Montauk Highway and pulled over Walsberg near the Dock Road intersection. According to the arrest report, Walsberg’s breath smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage, his speech was slurred and his eyes were blood shot and glassy. Police said he was unsteady on his feet and performed poorly on sobriety tests.
