Town Police Log: Man Admits to Buying Vicodin for Recreation

The following information was supplied by the Southampton Town Police Department.

arrest and incident reports for the week of Aug. 15 through Aug. 22 for east of the Shinnecock Canal:

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance

Marc Castro, 27, of Dix Hills was arrested Sunday at 4:09 a.m. at the corner of Deerfield Road and Montauk Highway in Water Mill and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor. Police said they stopped Castro for not using his blinker when they discovered that he had a container of Vicodin pills. Castro said he bought them for recreational use from a friend.

DWI

Marc D’Aconta, 34, of Southampton was arrested Aug. 16 at 1:30 a.m. on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. D’Aconta crashed into three unoccupied parked cars along Main Street in Hampton Bays and appeared intoxicated, police said.

Criminal Impersonation

A 17-year-old Cutchogue boy was arrested Aug.16 at 1:59 p.m. at the corner of Sunrise Highway and North Road in Southampton and charged with second-degree criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor. Police said Coutts was stopped for speeding when he offered someone else’s drivers license to officers.

Stolen Car

A 50-year-old woman from Southampton told police that sometime during the overnight between Thursday and Friday someone stole her 2002 Mercedes Benz from her driveway on Rebadam Lane in Southampton. The car was unlocked with the keys in the ignition and the thief damaged another car in the driveway, according to the incident report. Officers are investigating.
