Town Police Log: DWI Charge While Taking Passenger to Hospital

Also among the week's arrests, a Water Mill man charged with DWI while pulling out of gas station.

Arest reports from the Southampton Town Police Department for east of the Shinnecock Cancel between April 15 and April 21:

Driving While Intoxicated

• James D. Selberg-Stross, 22, of East Hampton, was arrested April 17 at 6:07 a.m. on Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree–alcohol related, a felony; driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor; and being an unlicensed driver, a traffic infraction.

Police said Selberg-Stross was pulled over for multiple traffic violations. He said he was transporting someone to the hospital, but had been drinking, according to the arrest report.

• Daniel Patrick Foley, 42, of Water Mill, was arrested April 18 at 10:54 a.m. Water Mill and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and refusing to submit to a breath screening test.

According to the arrest report, a caller reported to police that an intoxicated driver was attempting to leave the Shell gas station at 960 Montauk Highway, and when a police officer arrived he saw Foley backing out of a parking spot and stopped him.

The report states that the officer confirmed Foley was intoxicated, placed him under arrest and took him to police headquarters for processing.

Menacing, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing.

• Ross H. Milligan, 37, of Bridgehampton, was arrested April 15 at 11:46 a.m. at a Lillian Lane address in Sag Harbor and charged with menacing in the third degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, criminal obstruction of breathing, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment in the second degree, a violation.
