Town Police Log: DWI Charge in Tuckahoe

Also among the week's arrests, a Manhattan man charged with criminal mischief in Bridgehampton.

• William T. Mahoney Jr., 57, of Southampton, was arrested April 5 at 9:13 p.m. near the interction of North Magee Street and White’s Lane in Tuckahoe and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, as well as failure to keep right and moving from lane unsafely, both traffic infractions. Police said that around 8:38 p.m., they pulled Mahoney over and found him to have bloodshot eyes and the smell of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. According to the arrest report, he performed poorly on roadside sobriety tests.

Criminal Mischief

• Noel A. Ashford, 36, of Manhattan, was arrested April 6 at 10:35 a.m. on Wendy's Lane in Bridgehampton and charged with criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor, and harassment in the second degree, a violation. According to the arrest report, a police officer was dispatched to a Wendy’s Lane address for an abandoned 911 call. Once there, the officer came upon a heated argument between Ashford, a woman and her friend. Police said the woman had called 911, at which point Ashford had run over, grabbed the woman by the shoulders and ripped the phone from her hands and hung it up.
