Town Police Log: Criminal Mischief, Lying to Police Arrests Made

The following information was supplied by the Southampton Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

Criminal Mischief

Duvan Castro, 26, of Sag Harbor was arrested Saturday at 1:29 p.m. on Ridge Road in Noyac and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors. Police said Castro had an argument with his mother-in-law, broke a kitchen chair and punched holes in the wall of the house. When police came, he ran into the woods, police said.

False Written Statement

Andrew Ceslow, 18, of Amagansett was arrested July 19 at 2:24 p.m. at police headquarters in Hampton Bays and charged with submitting a false written statement and second-degree obstructing government administration, a misdemeanor. Police said they questioned Ceslow regarding a broken window found at a building on County Road 39 in late May, but discovered after other interviews that he lied about the incident.

DWI

Dillon Cassidy, 23, of Jamesport was arrested Thursday at 2:57 a.m. at the corner of Montauk Highway and Canoe Place Road in Shinnecock Hills and charged with DWI and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors. Police said Cassidy, a bouncer at Dream Night Club in Hampton Bays, did not use his turn signal and, when they pulled him over, saw that he had steroids in his center console.

Juan Ochoa, 21, of Southampton was arrested Thursday at 2:37 a.m. on the corner of North Magee Street and Whites Lane in Tuckahoe and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said they pulled Ochoa over when they saw him driving 15 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone.
