Town Police Log: Car Accident Leads to DWI Arrest

Police said they discovered Gail M. Schiavoni was drunk after she pulled in front of a vehicle in North Haven, causing an accident.

DWI:

Gail M. Schiavoni, 51, of Sag Harbor was arrested at 5:57 p.m. Saturday in North Haven and charged with DWI. Police said an officer responded to a motor vehicle accident at State Route 114 and Corwin Road in which Schiavoni pulled in front of another vehicle and the officer found she was intoxicated. Schiavoni was additionally charged with failing to stop at a stop sign and failure to yield.

Vinson Grant Jr., 54, of Brentwood was arrested at 2:52 a.m. Sunday in Southampton and charged with DWI and speeding. Police said Grant was stopped for speeding on County Road 39 and was found to be intoxicated. He had glassy eyes and slurred speech and smelled of alcohol, according to the arrest report.

Raymond J. O’Brien, 31, of Bridgehampton was arrested at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday in North Sea and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree and driving with a suspended registration, all misdemeanors. Police said O’Brien was stopped for several traffic violations when it was discovered he had herion and marijuana on him and his license was suspended. He was additionally charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and several traffic infractions.
