Town Police Log: Amagansett Man Charged with Leaving Accident Scene; Montauk Woman Picked Up for Shoplifting

Leaving the Scene of an Accident
Alonso Vinicio Peres, 22, of Amagansett was arrested in Bridgehampton on Feb. 13 at around 7:28 p.m. at Sagaponack Road and Highland Terrace after police said he was involved in a motor vehicle accident then left the scene. Police said Peres had no ID on him. He was charged with being an unlicensed operator of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and following too closely.

Petit Larceny
A 42-year-old Montauk woman was caught on store security cameras removing security tags from clothing and walking past the registers of without paying, according to police. Police said the loss prevention team at the store located at the Bridgehampton Commons apprehended Lisa Ann Montella and held her until police arrived. She tried to steal items valued at a total of $700, including nine shirts, two pairs of paints and two handbags, according to authorities.

Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs
58, of Southampton was charged this past week with driving while ability impaired by drugs and assault.
