Town Police: DWI Charge In Car Vs. Train Trestle Crash

Also, a seat belt violation leads to drunken driving charge.

The following arrests were reported by the Southampton Town Police Department. A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Bridgehampton

  • Angel DeJesus, 23, of Bridgehampton, was arrested on Aug. 21 on a charge of DWI, a misdemeanor. According to police, DeJesus was driving a 2000 BMW on Butter Lane when he crashed into a train trestle. He was arrested at around 3:20 a.m.

Noyac

  • Fernando Zenejas, 24, of Sag Harbor, was arrested in Noyac on Aug. 25 and charged with misdemeanor DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both misdemeanors. Police said Zenejas was initially pulled over for an alleged seat belt violation on Noyac Road at around 5 p.m. when they discovered he was intoxicated. Police also discovered he was driving under a suspended license, they said. He was also charged with driving without a seat belt and consuming an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, both violations.

Sag Harbor

  • Kaitlin Bond, 24, of Sag Harbor, was arrested in Sag Harbor on Aug. 23 on a DWI charge, a misdemeanor. Police said Bond was driving a 2002 Chevy Tahoe on Sag Harbor Turnpike, near Lily Pond Drive, at around 10 p.m. when she was stopped for an alleged traffic violation. Police said Bond had a strong scent of alcohol on her breath and did poorly on a field sobriety test.
