Town Cops: Drug Investigation Leads to Pair of Local Arrests

Southampton police arrests through July 15.

• A 58-year-old homeless man was pulled over last Tuesday as part of an East End Drug Task Force investigation and later charged with DWAI drugs, a misdemeanor. 

According to police, after being pulled over on Montauk Highway in Southampton around 9 a.m., the man admitted to police that he had used heroin earlier in the day. His vehicle was impounded as part of the investigation. 

• A 35-year-old resident of the Shinnecock Indian Reservation was arrested on misdemeanor charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, as well as criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument last Tuesday. A police report states that police spotted her around 10 a.m. during a narcotics investigation by the East End Drug Task Force.
