State Police Log: Troopers Charge Two with DWI

A wrap up of the past week's New York State Police arrest reports for the South Fork.

New York State Police arrest reports for the South Fork for the week of Jan. 22 to Jan. 28:

DWI

Christopher Vaca, 21, of Hampton Bays was found Friday at around 1:10 a.m. stuck in the snow while behind the wheel of a black Jeep on Bellows Pond Road in Hampton Bays, police said. Vaca told police he lost control of the vehicle and drove into the snow, according to authorities. Police said Vaca blew a .25 on a breathylizer and a search of the vehicle uncovered a small amount of marijuana. Vaca was charged with misdemeanor DWI and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. He is due in on Feb. 9 at 1 p.m.

Francisco Velasquez, 27, of Westhampton was stopped on Sunrise Highway in Westhampton near exit 63 on Jan. 22 for going 88 mph in a 55-mph zone, according to police. Police said they smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and Velasquez failed sobriety tests. He was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI. He is due to appear in .
