Springs Boy Stabbed in Bridgehampton Early Sunday Morning

Police look to community for investigation leads.

An 11th grade student from was stabbed while he was walking home from a party in Bridgehampton early Sunday morning, said.

The 16-year-old Springs boy tried to defend a friend who was fighting with another person when the boy was attacked and beat up by several others, according to police. The boy and his 17-year-old friend were walking back to the older boy's car on Scuttle Hole Road from a nearby house party, police said.

The victim woke up in the car with a stab wound in his back and pain in his face, according to a police narrative of the incident. His friend drove him to after the fight, police said.

The boy at first did not know he had been stabbed because “there was so much going on” during the attack, but hospital staff determined that he suffered a puncture wound from a knife, said Detective Sergeant Lisa Costa. She did not say how many people beat the boy up.
